A Military Baby Shower For Local Southern Nevada Military Families

Operation Boots and Booties

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 12101, Fox 5, NV Energy, Subaru Las Vegas and Henderson Hospital are joining forces to collect baby items for new and expecting military families residing in Southern Nevada. From cribs to car seats to gift cards, every donation will help keep baby safe and happy while mom or dad are away serving our country.  The February 4th baby shower will be for approximately 250 new and expecting military mothers many who have deployed partners or are active-duty servicewomen.  All military branches of services are invited to participate.  The event will include gifts from the local community and flowers from expectant fathers.

The majority of the women who attend the shower are first-time moms or expecting multiples. Due to constant deployments many of these expecting mothers will be giving birth while their husbands are deployed in combat areas such as Afghanistan. In addition to an evening of food and games the most important opportunity for many of these new moms is to be surrounded by other women in the exact same situation as they celebrate the births of their new babies.

"Our veterans and military families need so much, but together we can provide these ladies the baby shower of their dreams.  From one-on-one attention to the community pulling together we can help these military families needing assistance with their upcoming arrival. "
